DESCRIPTION:This seminar gives staff and volunteers a common language\, understanding\, and tools to prevent and alleviate poverty. Participants increase awareness of how economic class impacts life experience\, resources\, and stability. Customer service and teamwork in business and community settings are improved. This seminar is based on the book Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals and Communities\, a collaboration between Ruby K. Payne\, Philip DeVol\, and Terie Dreussi Smith.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitator: Stephen MacDonald – certified Bridges Out of Poverty trainer\n\n\nArrival/Check-In: 8:30 – 9:00 AM\n\n\nParking: Free and next to the building. DESCRIPTION:The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) and Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN) will co-host a doula stakeholder meeting on February 20\, 2024\, at 9:00 a.m. \nThis meeting will discuss the progress made regarding the doula certification process\, provide updates to the doula certification and enrollment timelines\, and discuss potential rates and visit options for doulas serving people with Medicaid coverage. We seek input from doulas\, entities employing doulas\, Medicaid members\, and community representatives where doulas may improve patient experiences and help reduce high maternal and infant mortality rates. Registration is available on the Maternal Infant Support Program (MISP) website. The ODM and OBN look forward to hearing from you. Please share the opportunity with interested colleagues. \nODM will continue to update the MISP website with new information as ODM strives to develop and implement initiatives to reduce and eliminate racial disparities in maternal and infant outcomes and to reduce infant mortality.
