The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department’s Safe Communities Coalition and partners are hosting a special event highlighting the life-saving importance of seatbelts.

WHAT: Press event to highlight the importance of seatbelt use while riding in a vehicle.

WHERE: Fifth Third Field, Main Gate, Corner of Washington St. and N. Huron
The simple act of buckling a seatbelt is known to decrease the severity of injuries and can be the difference between life and death. Guests will learn statistics from the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Lucas County Safe Communities, and enjoy a color guard performance. State Patrol cruisers will be lined up outside the field, and troopers will throw the first pitch.
This event will take place before the Toledo Mud Hens game against the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, which is scheduled for 7:05 pm. An on-field ceremony will take place to honor 25 Saved by the Belt Award recipients, ages 4-74.
