In response to the current COVID-19 surge in northwest Ohio, the Ohio National Guard, Toledo-Lucas County Health Department, Mercy Health and ProMedica have collaborated and stood up a mass COVID-19 testing site at the Lucas County Rec Center. Furthermore, to meet the needs of the community, an additional test site has been identified at the UAW Local 12, 2300 Ashland Ave.,Toledo.

As part of this initiative, free COVID-19 testing will be available to the public at the UAW starting on Fri., Jan. 14, Jan. 18, and Jan. 19 from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., each day. The UAW was chosen for the second testing location because of its proximity to central city. Testing at the Lucas County Rec Center will continue operating Sunday thru Friday, 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The Rec Center is averaging approximately 650 testing appointments each day.

Pre-registration is required and no walk-ins will be permitted, at this time. Individuals who are not registered will not be allowed access to the site. There is no cost to be tested, and results will be communicated within 72 hours of the test being administered. Masks are required at entry. To view the complete schedule of available testing locations, dates, times, along with registration information, and reserve a time to be tested, visit https://lucascountyhealth.com/covidtest/

It is anticipated that this initiative will be ongoing for 30 days, but it will be evaluated on a weekly basis.
