The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department’s Traffic Safety program, along with community partners, is excited to announce the 2025 “Click It or Ticket” Kick-off Event to urge everyone in the community to buckle up when they’re riding in a car.

This energizing event aims to increase public awareness about the importance of seat belt use, aligning with the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign to promote safer roadways across the community.

The event will feature a press conference and remarks from prominent guest speakers, including Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, representatives from Governor Mike DeWine’s Office, and trauma specialists and neurosurgeon Dr. Hoyt from The University of Toledo Medical Center.

Following the press conference, the Quick Click Challenge will take place — a lively competition where teams race to buckle up properly and quickly, underscoring the life-saving importance of proper seat belt usage. Demonstrations will also be held on how seat belts should fit, with special guidance for pregnant women to ensure safety for both mother and baby.
