The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is ready to protect the community from COVID-19 this fall and winter. TLCHD is now accepting appointments for vaccinations.
As of September 12, 2023, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone ages six months and older receive one dose of the updated (2023-2024 Formula) mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. This is a monovalent (single) component that corresponds to the omicron variant XBB.1.5 of SARS-CoV-2.
It should be noted that bivalent mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are no longer recommended in the United States. For a complete list of COVID-19 vaccine recommendations, please visit https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/clinical-considerations/interim-considerations-us.html
All insurances may be billed, including Medicare Part B and Ohio Medicaid. Flu vaccines are available to everyone, regardless of insurance status. For additional information, or to schedule an appointment, please call 419-213-2013.
Available appointment times may be sparse for the next couple of weeks as more doses become available at the health department. We ask that those requesting an appointment for a vaccine have patience with our staff as we work to get vaccinations scheduled as early as possible.
