About the Getting to 1 Coalition:
In Lucas County on average, Black/African American infants die before their first birthday at a rate 2.6 times higher than White infants. The Getting to 1 Coalition is a community partnership committed to changing this reality by reducing infant mortality and improving birth outcomes. Through education, advocacy, and community-based initiatives, the Coalition works to ensure every baby has the chance to celebrate their first birthday and thrive beyond.
