The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is excited to announce a new resource that will help thousands of Lucas County residents who live with allergies and asthma.

The health department recently launched the Asthma and Allergy Resource Dashboard on its website. The dashboard features real-time and forecast information about pollen (provided by pollen.com) and air quality (provided by the EPA and TMACOG). This initiative is designed to enhance public access to vital information regarding allergies and asthma.

Key Features of the Asthma Resource Page Include:

  1. Educational Resources: Detailed information about common asthma triggers, and best practices for managing symptoms, including the EXHALE strategies.
  2. Interactive Tools: Online tools to help residents assess their risk for allergies and asthma and identify specific triggers in their environment.
  3. Guidance for Parents and Caregivers: Specialized resources for parents, caregivers, and schools, including action plans for managing asthma in children and tips for reducing allergens in the home.
  4. Local Environmental Data: Access to local pollen counts, air quality reports, and other environmental data to help individuals make informed decisions about their daily activities.
