The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department’s Traffic Safety program is hosting a CarFit event for senior drivers in Maumee.

WHO:TLCHD’s Traffic Safety
WHAT:Event for senior drivers to know if their current personal vehicles “fit” them.
WHEN:Tuesday, September 19, 2023 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
WHERE:Maumee Senior Center 2430 S Detroit Ave. Maumee, OH 43537

Older drivers are often considered the safest drivers, because they are more likely to wear their seatbelts, and tend to avoid risky driving behaviors such as drinking and driving and speeding. However, senior drivers can be more susceptible to injury or death in a crash. A proper fit for drivers inside their vehicle can further enhance their safety.

CarFit is an educational program that offers older adults the opportunity to check how well their personal vehicle fits them, with the goal of increasing the safety of senior drivers and those around them.

During this event, trained technicians and health professionals will work with participants to ensure their vehicles provide maximum comfort and safety. Each CarFit check will take up to 20 minutes. Registration is not required.
