Lucas County Moves Up in Health Rankings
Lucas County ranks as the 66th healthiest county in Ohio, according to the ninth annual County Health Rankings, released today by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute (UWPHI). In 2017, Lucas County was ranked 69th out of 88 counties. Areas of improvement within the last year: clinical care, physical environments, and quality of life.
The Rankings make it clear that good health is influenced by many factors beyond medical care including housing, education, jobs, access to healthy foods, and more. The Rankings, an easy-to-use snapshot, reveal the overall health of nearly every county in the nation. It allows each state to see how people from one county to another compare on a range of factors from housing to transportation to community safety and offers ways to take action to promote lifelong health and ensure every community is a healthy place to live, learn, work, and play. |
