Services Provided

WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. WIC provides Nutrition Education, Breastfeeding Support, and Supplemental Foods.

Qualifications

You may qualify for the WIC Program if you are:

  • Pregnant, breastfeeding, or a woman who recently had a child (up to six months)
  • An infant or child under age 5
  • At medical or nutrition risk and meet income guidelines

      WIC Farmer's Market - Farmer's Market Coupons are typically distributed the second week of July and are available for WIC participants at your local WIC office. Below is a list of fruits and vegetables that can be purchased along with the local farmers that accept the coupons.

      Did You Know?

      The Lucas County WIC Program offers Breastfeeding Support and Education to WIC Participants at its clinics and various locations throughout the county. Two internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants and Peer Helpers assist mothers with knowledge and resources to increase breastfeeding initiation and duration. The Breastfeeding Support Office is located at the Health Department on the 2nd floor in room 265. For more information please contact the WIC Breastfeeding Support program at (419) 213-2124.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
